Started watching Firefly.  Am blond, so have lots of questions.

1) So the independents (Browncoats) are like the Rebels, and the Alliance is like the Empire?  Why are they called Browncoats?  Just cuz they wear brown coats?
2) What is that language they keep speaking that sounds like Chinese?
3) Why do they need a "companion" on the ship?  So far she hasn't had sex with anybody so it seems kinda pointless.

1. Describe your favorite pair of shoes that you have ever owned, and why they're your favorite.
     Wow, this is really hard.  I had (or technically still have) a pair of Steve Madden motorcycle boots that I love and adore.  So much that I wore the soles down to nothing and now I need to get them resoled and haven't done it yet.  I also had a favorite pair of steel toed Doc Martens that I wore to every concert for like 10 years.  They finally died a horrible death and I threw them away.

2. Is there a friend from your past that you've particularly regretted losing contact with? 
    Believe it or not I tend to make an effort to stay in contact with everyone that I feel a connection with.  However, my college roommate Mollie is now a heroin addict living with her mother and has two children who live with their fathers because she is unable to care for them.  She called me a couple of years ago and cussed me out for making money and being happy.  I know that she was on something when she called, but still it hurt and I have not spoken with her since.  I am sad that if the "old Mollie" ever returns I will not be there to greet her.

3. If you were on a cross-country drive, which 5 CDs would you bring and why?
     The likelihood of me going on a cross country drive is small, since even the 7 hours to LA is hardly bearable.  However, the below CD's would be my choices....based solely on the ability to sing along with them.

4. What flowers were in your wedding bouquet? Do they have a story?
     I don't remember, since I wasn't very specific about the actual flowers, just that the colors matched the bridesmaid dresses.  I wasn't picky about a lot of things involving my weddding, luckily my mom was.  I know that there were roses, but that's all I remember.  My mom dried my bouquet for me while we were on our honeymoon and I think it's still in my bedroom closet at my parents' house.

5. If you were on death row (I know, a stretch. :) and could have one final meal, what would it be?
     There's this cafe in Arcata called Daybreak and I used to go there at least a couple of times a week.  They have this awesome dish called Daybreak Potatoes, it's basically potatoes with veggies and sour cream and cheese.  I would have that and probably some creme brulee and Pom tea.

Breakfast: Everything bagel with light amount of garlic cream cheese
Snack: 1/2 cookie
Lunch: 1 roll Godzilla sushi, miso soup, edamame, fresh sake nigiri, inari, green tea
Snack: 1/2 cookie
Dinner: Fruit bar, small square mac and cheese, red zinger iced tea (unsweetened)
Right now: Lowfat, low sugar Kettle Korn

Exercise: 20 mins DDR

This isn't very good, but I didn't know until this evening that I was going to be journaling my food. Tomorrow will be better! Also, I do not have a refridgerator until about Wednesday, so I can really only eat takeout :( Which kinda puts a wrench in my diet plans.

3:01PM - Myspace...

I wanted to let "everybody" (probably just Gwynne and Jason) know that I have started posting on Myspace instead of LJ because the majority of my friends will actually read it if I post there. Not that I mind really posting on LJ, it just is kind of unmotivating to know that only two people are reading. Would you guys mind subscribing to my myspace blog instead?

9:27PM - Camping...

So James and I went camping this past weekend, and had a blast! I had forgotten how fun it is to cook outside, sleep in a tent, and meet bears (one decided he wanted our apples at 3 am).

Pictures are available! We went to Fallen Leaf Lake, which is just a few miles from the south shore of Lake Tahoe. Considering the fact that I heard is was 103 degrees here at home on Saturday, and a high of 88 in Tahoe, I'm very glad we went! It was so beautiful, and very relaxing. Although we played Simpsons Monopoly on Saturday afternoon and James totally beat me! I always win!

11:09AM - Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

I got my dad A's tickets so that the five of us (he, my mom, my brother, myself and James) can go to a ball game. I hope that he is excited!

In other news, James has been gone to Atlanta and is coming home late tonight. He went to the annual conference for the National Athletic Training Association (NATA). I am looking forward to seeing him, but also was surprised at how I didn't really miss him that much while he was gone. I guess because I was just so busy, and until this morning, I haven't really spent any time alone since he left on Tuesday! I guess a bit of time before I went to bed on Tuesday night. Vegas really has missed him though! He keeps meowing and looking at me with sad eyes. Noche is the opposite...he has been enjoying the fact that he doesn't have to share me with James. Gee, who's cat is whose? LOL

Okay, well, gotta go get dressed!

Okay, so, I know it is bad that I haven't been posting lately. I just get busy, and it isn't one of the first things I think of. And it also seems like I complain too much in my posts, so I am going to try to stop doing that. :)

I don't know how to do bullets, but I think that I will do a version of brandeks's "bulleted list". :P

1) Have tickets to see Madonna on May 23rd and also May 30th. The former is in LA, the latter in San Jose. The former is going to end up being a decently expensive trip, and too much time off work, but even so, I am so excited! I also get some much-needed alone time (four days!) with my friend Holly, whom I have barely seen lately. The only problem is that all the good hotels seem to be all booked during that time (maybe for the concert) so I am going to have to take what I can get. :( I promise a Madonna souvenir for anyone who wants one! Any takers? Am going with some friends to the San Jose show, is anyone else going?

2) Have been getting up to go to the gym at 5:30 am recently, and am quite enjoying it. Hopefully, combined with my diet, I will start losing an L-B or two!

3) My house is a dump and the yards are a mess. I need to clean and weed. Ugh.

4) Have put off looking for a house until the fall. I'm kind of....just not ready. I feel like I SHOULD be ready, and why aren't I? James says, "whatever you think is best". Although secretly, I think that he is really ready to move.

and lastly...
5) I have SUN!!! I was starting to fucking wonder if the sun would EVER show itself this spring. I am so sick of rain...and I lived in Humboldt county for 6 years! It was finally late 80s today and not a cloud in the sky. Perfect. I am ready for the really warm weather....laying out...swimming...wearing bronzer...taking camping trips...yay!!!

8:43AM - Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...

Okay, yuck, my root canal is tomorrow morning at 8 am. Less than 24 hours from now. I actually wasn't that worried about it until my friend Kristin went on and on Friday night about how much it sucks. Of course, she had her root canal in 4th grade. So that definitely makes a bit of a difference. But everybody has been telling me that it isn't that much worse than a filling, so I haven't been that worried about it. And I am not one of those people who is really scared of the dentist, although it certainly isn't my first choice of places to spend my morning. But if Kristin could just have kept her stupid mouth shut I would certainly have appreciated it. Now I am much more apprehensive than I was. I am going to take my mp3 player with me and see if they'll let me use it.

Okay, so I was on AOL last night uploading some new pictures of myself to my profile, and noticed that weight-wise I have definitely crossed the line from "big girl" to "fat girl". And summer is fast approaching. I have been going to the gym, but haven't been as on top of it as I should be. When it comes right down to it, I would really prefer to hang out at home and do stuff on the computer, or spend extra hours at work. I need to get in that work out mode, and I need to go back to Weight Watchers for real. I have made a decision (just this morning actually). I am going to go by the Roseville store on Tuesday and get my folder, then on Thursday I am going to go to the 12:15 meeting at the new store in Rocklin by my work. If I make it a habit to go during lunch every Thursday, then I will be forced to go, and therefore forced to count points, and then will lose weight, and will stay motivated to lose more weight. If I could just lose 10 pounds by June that would be awesome. I still have two months, that's totally doable isn't it? Okay, I need to go get dressed.

8:59PM - Massive pain...

Okay, so I couldn't wait to make the dentist appt. because I was in such excruciating pain. I could not even function this morning when I went in to work, even with 5 (!) Advil in my system. And I am NOT someone who pops pills needlessly. If I have a headache, I prefer to drink water and lay in a dark room than take medication for it. That is how much pain I was in, that I would overmedicate like that.

They had a noon consult appt. open, so I went in today. I do need the root canal, as I thought. My appt. for that is a week from today at 8 am. At least I will get it over with before I have to go to work! Hopefully I won't be completely useless at work for the afternoon on that day. I am not excited about the procedure, but am not that worried about it. It's only about an hour and a half, and they numb you up and everything, of course. And I think that I can listen to music on my Zen, so that helps. I am on antibiotics (4 times a day!) for the next week, and he also gave me a prescription for 800 milligram Ibuprofen because he didn't want me to take so many over the counter pain killers. He said that by Wednesday afternoon or so my pain should have subsided quite a bit, since the infection will start to go away thanks to the antibiotics. So hopefully I won't need any painkillers after that.

Aargh. Well, at least it will all be over soon.

And now, to bed!!

7:37AM - I am in love...

Jason should appreciate this... I got a Sidekick on Saturday! I am so in love with it!

It has web browser, and of course it is so much easier to text with the full QWERTY keyboard. I haven't turned it on to use as a phone yet (since I DO still have my other phone!) but I think I am going to have to soon because I just can't stand not using it to the full extent of its abilities. And also, it is pink and Juicy Couture!! I so adore it. I am going to have trouble working today because I will want to play with it.

In not as exciting news, my tooth with the crown is hurting again, and I might have to ACTUALLY make the dentist appt to go get a root canal. I am not going to make it today...if it is still hurting tomorrow, then I will call. Argh.
